Ethiopia, located in Eastern Africa, is officially known as the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. It is the 2nd most populous country in Africa. The country's economy is agriculture based. Main crops of Ethiopia are coffee, pulses, oilseeds, sugarcane, cereals, potatoes and vegetables. Most of the export includes agricultural products. Coffee stands as a leading foreign exchange earning commodity. It is the 2nd largest producer of maize. Livestock are raised and the population of animals is assumed to be the largest in the continent. Chief industries of Ethiopia are food processing, metals processing, beverages, textiles, chemicals and cement.
